The Committee would like to introduce you to a candidate for Mayor for the City of  Haverhill for 2023. Guy is an honest, hard-working, and patient man who is jumping into the mayoral race. We believe you will agree that this is the right time and he IS the right choice to move the city forward with a new set of eyes and new ideas for our city.

After graduating from Haverhill High in 1988, Guy served his country in the United States Marines. A couple years later a back injury put him on the disabled veteran’s list. He returned home, recovered and began working at the Essex County Sheriff’s Department as a corrections officer and was later sworn in as a deputy sheriff. He worked in the department there for more than six years before becoming a patrolman in the Haverhill Police Department. While being a single parent to his very young daughter Cassandra, and beginning his career as a full-time police officer, he enrolled in the Criminal Justice program at Western New England University graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He knows how to juggle the important things in life and with so many aspects of a city to manage, we truly believe his knowledge and experiences in the city will benefit him to be a great mayor in Haverhill.

Being a police officer in Haverhill has been an amazing career for Guy, not only to serve the people, but to also to have the opportunity to meet so many people. During his time as a police officer, Guy wanted to do more. He became Vice President for the Haverhill Police Relief’s Association and remained in that position for 19 years. He then became the treasurer for the Policeman’s Union. He didn’t just ride out his career, he continued to make an impact on those he worked with, worked for and those he served. Guy recently retired after 26 years of honorable service in the Haverhill Police Department.

Another way Guy was able to give back to his community was to volunteer his time to coach youth football in Haverhill. Guy played semi-pro football and wanted to extend the joy of the game to the youth in our city. He was able to be a positive role model to so many of our youth. We think he enjoyed coaching, as much as the boys he coached, enjoyed playing.

Otra forma que tuvo Guy de retribuir a su comunidad fue ofrecer su tiempo como voluntario para entrenar a jóvenes futbolistas en Haverhill. Some of you may have heard about Guy from articles written about him in the newspaper regarding his time playing semi-pro football, or his time as an actor. Guy is very proud to have a hobby that he finds fun and interesting. He is a member of Sag-Aftra, has his own IMDb page, has taken acting classes in his spare time and has been in more than 20 movies both on Netflix and on the big screen. Other hobbies he enjoys is taking his 2002 Harley Davidson Road King out in the warmer weather, taking care of his chickens, and going out to eat to the many amazing establishments in and around Haverhill.

After thinking more about what he could do to participate in the growth, improvement, and prosperity of Haverhill, Guy has decided to throw his hat in the ring again and run for Mayor of Haverhill. He believes he can be a great asset to the city by helping to move the city forward and continue to make positive progress. Serving the people and his community has always been his calling and he is ready to continue to do so in this capacity for our city and for us!
